Moving to a new machine

One licence covers one machine at a time. Here is how to free the seat and claim it somewhere else.

The normal way#

  1. 01

    On the old machine, open Settings and choose to deactivate. That releases the seat immediately.

  2. 02

    On the new machine, install Pip and enter the same licence key.

If the old machine is gone#

Dead drive, wiped laptop, returned work computer — you cannot deactivate a machine you no longer have. Request a transfer from within the app, or contact support with your licence key or order number and we will free the seat for you. This is a normal request and it is not a problem.

Reinstalling on the same machine#

Note

A reformat or a fresh Windows install counts as a new machine, since the device fingerprint changes with it. Deactivate first if you can. If you have already wiped it, ask us — see above.
